About Clarijs and the new ReCover brand.
About Us

Our Story
Clarijs is based in Serooskerke, a small village in Zeeland in the south-west of the Netherlands. Clarijs is a family business, established as a saddlery in 1948, then evolved into a sail-maker before moving into manufacturing bike bags; initially for farmers.

Today the company is perhaps best known for their distinctive cargo bike canopies and covers, which are designed to fit perfectly onto models from brands such as Urban Arrow, Babboe, Bakfiets.nl, Nihola, Christiania and many more. In addition, they offer a wide range of bike bags and accessories.

The covers are precision-cut from a large sheet of material, including the large window panels. It occurred to Frank Koppenol, Owner at Clarijs, that this leftover material could be used elsewhere. In 2022 they introduced the solo bag, a rear pannier mounted bag made from this recycled material.
In 2023 they introduce ReCover!
This year, together with business partner Jochem Karstanje they introduce the ReCover line at Eurobike, starting with bike covers to protect them during transport. These covers are also made from recycled material.

Today Clarijs employs around 100 people and manufactures products in both the Netherlands and Romania. They sell in 12 countries, including the US and Canada.
